ToggleIn her initial introduction during the second season’s “Blind-Sided” episode, Katrina’s ambition is clear. Desiring a shift from the Manhattan DA’s office to private practice, she attempts to leverage Mike Ross for a recommendation to Harvey. Hired under unique circumstances to shield Mike, she doesn’t hold back from emphasizing her ‘fifth-year’ status, often trying to overshadow Rachel and Mike despite not being their direct supervisor.

Katrina’s hunger to be acknowledged leads her to commit a series of questionable acts. She sneakily leaves unsolicited research in Harvey’s office, confronts Mike with unwavering audacity, and even stages a demeaning prank to humiliate him before the entire firm. When these actions lead her to primarily work with Louis Litt, it becomes a turning point in her professional journey. Under Louis’s mentorship, Katrina finds her footing, managing to strike a balance between ambition and integrity.
Season 4 showcases Katrina’s unwavering loyalty to Louis during the Gillis Industries takeover battle and her role in Louis’s controversial dealings with Charles Forstman. However, her decision to provide Louis with information, which potentially threatened Pearson Specter’s clientele, reflected her fierce loyalty but also her misjudgments. This action, alongside other significant choices, continues to paint Katrina as a multifaceted character, driven by both ambition and loyalty.
Season 5 and 6 highlight Katrina’s resilience. After facing professional setbacks, she re-emerges at Rand, Kaldore, & Zane, collaborating with Mike. Later, her comeback to Pearson Specter Litt, orchestrated by Louis, speaks volumes about her indomitable spirit. Here, she isn’t the same ‘fifth-year’ associate from Season 2. She is mature, more grounded, and ready for challenges.
The latter part of SUITS, particularly seasons 8 and 9, brings forth a Katrina Bennett who has learned from her mistakes, forged valuable alliances, and emerged stronger. Achieving senior partnership at Zane Specter Litt and eventually being promoted to a name partner in the series finale, Katrina’s evolution is commendable.
Amanda Schull’s portrayal of Katrina Bennett in SUITS is nothing short of spectacular. Starting as a fifth-year associate with a point to prove, facing numerous professional and personal challenges, and ultimately rising to become a name partner, Katrina’s journey is a testament to resilience, growth, and ambition. Just as SUITS has left an indelible mark on its fans, Katrina Bennett, with her complexities and triumphs, remains one of the show’s most memorable characters.
